His research and professional activities include: public understanding of science and technology; professional development in primary and secondary science; and, information and communications technology (ICT) in teaching and learning. He teaches graduate and undergraduate units in science education, science communication and ICT in education. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
