Caroline Mansfield has a background in Secondary Education having 10 years experience teaching English and Music in Western Australian high schools. She currently lectures in the areas of Learning Processes and Assessment Processes in postgraduate and undergraduate courses. Her research interests include motivation, collaborative learning, classroom instructional practices, self-regulation of learning and middle schooling. In 2002 she was awarded the Western Australian Institute for Educational research Postgraduate Prize in Education for her doctoral thesis.
