Fees and Scholarships

  • HECS fees - Bachelor Degrees, Initial Teacher Education Degrees and Initial Teacher Education Graduate Diplomas in Education are available under the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS). further information >>

  • Research fees - Research degrees (that is PhD, EdD, MPhil, and MEd (research)) at present have fee waiver scholarships available. further information >>

  • PELS (Postgraduate Education Loans Scheme ) is an interest-free loans facility for eligible students who are enrolled in fee-paying, postgraduate non-research courses. It is similar to the deferred payment arrangements available under the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS). PELS enables eligible students to obtain a loan from the Commonwealth Government to pay all or part of their tuition fees incurred from 2002 onwards. further information >>

  • Up-front tuition fees - Graduate and Postgraduate Certificates and Diplomas, and Masters by Coursework are not HECS based and so are subject to 'up front' tuition fees payable by the end of week one each semester. further information >>

  • Youth Allowance/Austudy/ABSTUDY - Full-time students enrolled in an approved course could be eligible for the Commonwealth Government’s Youth Allowance and Austudy schemes. Students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent may apply for comparable assistance under the ABSTUDY scheme.

  • International Students - are eligible for admission as full-fee paying students. The International Prospectus which includes the fee structure and other information for international students is available from Murdoch's International Office. The Australian Government provides financial assistance to international students through competitive scholarships. The scholarships cover tuition fees and / or living allowances for selected students. Further enquiries and applications should be directed to the nearest Australian Education Centre or Australian Government Post in your own country.

  • Amenities and Services Fee - the fee is compulsory and is payable by all students enrolled at Murdoch unless they are in an exempt class of students as identified by the Fees Regulations. See the Fees and Financial Assistance Handbook entry for more information.

  • Guild Fees - every student is automatically a member of the Guild of Students unless he or she elects, at the time of enrolment, not to be a member, or subsequently resigns as a member. See the Guild website for more information.

  • Scholarships - are available to both full-time and part-time research degree students and full-time coursework Master degree students. Further information can be obtained here.
