Curriculum Resource Centre Collections

The CRC maintains a current collection of quality teaching resources at all levels for the use of student teachers. Student teachers are able to evaluate a range of resources used in schools and in education generally and access the resources for their Professional Internship.

The Collection includes:

  • Curriculum Framework documents for Western Australia
  • Many activities and ideas books for classroom lesson preparation
  • Videos and DVDs for class viewing
  • Educational software for evaluation
  • Teaching kits to support the learning areas
  • Posters and focus packs for all learning areas
  • Puppets to support a range of stories and themes
  • Educational games
  • Early childhood learning objects
  • Learning objects to support all learning areas
  • A selection of primary and young adult fiction
  • A collection of picture books
  • Big books and guided reading packs

The Collection does not include:

  • Texts which are located in the University Library
  • Blackline masters for copying only
  • Tests other than a few samples

Students are also encouraged to make use of complementary collections of resources:

Reciprocal access is available to the Western Australian Department of Education and Training Library. Students should take proof of current enrolment at Murdoch University and their student card.

The Murdoch University Library has a collection of fiction as well as texts suitable for secondary education.

Public libraries are an excellent source of fiction and non fiction.

The One World Centre can be accessed for multicultural and indigenous educational resources. A small annual fee is charged.
